Résumé : | Hallucinations are still frequently considered, both in the general population and by some insufficiently informed professionals, as pathognomonic of schizophrenia. Mass media and moviemakers still often convey inaccurate and stigmatizing representations of these experiences, constituting a barrier to early access to care. Yet, several epidemiological surveys confirmed that hallucinations are polymorphic, and found in many different contexts ranging from general experiences to pathology, challenging the idea that they would always be synonymous with mental illness.
