Résumé : | Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with disease-onset in the old age is rare and has not been widely studied. Neurological signs are infrequent and chorea has never been reported as a revealing sign. Extra-neurological symptoms such as arthralgia, anaemia and depression are commonly found and orient the diagnosis. Among adults, choreic movements have been described with frequencies ranging from 1 to 3%. Chorea is often inaugural and is associated with anti-phospholipid antibodies in most cases. Treatment is based on immunosuppressive drugs and antiplatelet agents. Chorea often disappears in a few weeks. [résumé d'auteur] |
